The Move In.

In my previous post I talked about "5 Things They Don't Tell You About Moving In Together." I wanted to take a step further in today's post to tell you a more detailed account of things I did and have noticed about the days following the move in with my ex (almost) husband.

When we were dating and before we got married my ex (almost) husband was all about getting married after we graduated college and started a career. He was in school to become a physical therapist and it would have taken more than 5 years to complete all the schooling, etc. that he needed to start a career.

... then less than 6 months later we found out that I was pregnant with my now 3 year old... and he proposed. THIS was a red flag for my parents... why I did not listen? I don't know.

I honestly don't even remember them saying anything about it.

Other before we were married things I knew but never addressed... I knew he was a cheater. I found videos, images, text messages, etc. on his p…

Being Thankful Doesn't Come Easy

I have been thinking the past few days and have realized all of the small things I was NEVER thankful for. The past few months alone have been a struggle with both sides of our family helping us to pay bills... when the 5th of January rolled around we weren't sure what to do about rent. It is the 9th and not even half the rent was paid, but every penny we had was placed in the rent box last night.

I am sure you know the feeling... and if you don't then you have no clue how blessed you are. My greatest fear right now is that we will get so behind that we will not ever catch up.

In the midst of all our struggle I can truly say that I am thankful for many things.

My Thankful List for 1/1- 1/7

  • I am thankful for the snow. This was a bittersweet week for me... it is hard to be thankful for something that kept you from going to work and making money... BUT how can you not be thankful for extra time with your family? Something as beautiful as that is worth being thankful for.

  • I am thankful for Netflix. It was so fun to sit and watch the series Breaking Bad over the week.  After a few days we couldn't find anything else to watch, but we ended the week with a reality TV show about tattoos.

  • I am thankful for heat. A working heater is always nice to have. Right before the snow hit our Landlord came by and fixed the heater, because it kept flipping the breaker switch.

I think the past few weeks have been a wake up call for me. I am less anxious about bills and while I do worry about not paying them... something always works in our favor in the end.

Remember to stay positive!
